On King’s Day we welcomed a large filly by Grandorado TN out of our mare Kalorata Eickenrode (Cardento x Heartbreaker). This dark bay filly displays ample athleticism with a spacious, powerful canter. Her name Specula is Latin for spark of hope.
This filly is bred out of Holsteiner mareline 206. This direct damline produced the Ian Miller’s In Style, silver medallist at the Olympic Games, the Grand Prix showjumper Anytime and the approved Grand Prix stallion Atlantic VDL. Not to mention the Grand Prix horse and top progenitor Lord Z.
Specula is a daughter of our Cardento-mare Kalorata Eickenrode, a blood mare with an eager attitude. A trait all the offspring of her Heartbreaker dam share. Her half-brother Jignipes Eickenrode made his 1.50m debut at CHIO Aachen with the legendary rider John Whitaker, making this Whitaker’s second star out of this lineage after Lord Z. Ignigena Eickenrode (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Heartbreaker) jumped her first 1.40m course in June 2022 with the young rider Sophie Paxton.
